Classic Video Games

I first started programming at age 11, when I took weekend classes at a company called Real Programming 4 Kids (RP4K). With the guidance of a mentor, I learned to recreate classic video games such as Asteroids, Donkey Kong, and Megaman using various programming languages like Visual Basic, Java, C, C#, and C++. Eventually I worked my way up to more advanced classes in which I could design my own games. In one class I created a 2D strategy game where you could move your troops around to strategically eliminate enemy troops. In another class, I used an Xbox controller and Microsoft's XNA framework to create a 3D flying game, in which you pilot a Cylon Raider from Battlestar Galactica over a 3D generated terrain and fire at floating enemy turrets.
